The Sling Den is a brand new podcast style video channel on YouTube featuring interviews with people in the slingshot community. Run by the skillful Ben Smith, he has had Canadian YouTuber Mark ATO as his first subject, the legendary hunter-forager Alex Davidson as his second and the passionate target shooter, spaniard Gaspar Arcon as his third. Can Vandal, the ebullient dude who calls us all ‘Taters’, (as against Tater Tots – it’s an American thing…) was fourth and so I was chuffed rotten to be asked about being in the 5th episode.
The intro to the ‘casts is a masterpiece of keen editing and tech wizardry but Ben likes his interviews to be unexpurgated and not clipped. So they have flowed free for as long as an hour and a half up to now. I have a single interview on Slingshot World TV on YouTube that I am so proud to have swagged, with Jöerg Sprave, that so far as had less than a thousand views versus Mark Clark making bands sets on his narrowboat in the sunshine next to the river Medway. That is at 80 thousand views last time I looked. Also unlike the Sling Den guys so far, I am just a reporter rather than ‘star’, so I tried to keep it brief. In ‘radio’ terms, it’s still a right old ramble.
I didn’t want to blither… and tried to keep it to the bones of what you might sit through. I was thrilled to be asked and only mildly embarrassed with how I come across. I do so hope you like it. Hey, go give us both a prod on the subscribe button!
