WSA Results! Spain 2026

WSA results from this weekend’s awesome event in Las Mesas, Spain. A seven-strong group of the best the UK has, went to Spain to compete with the best the rest of the world has in the sport. It was the most brilliant weekend for devout sling shooters. Fabulously organised as a whole community event, with a town parade, meals and meetings and more.

Our own UK top sling-shooter is arguably the legendary John Jeffries, and his words are so well chosen that I simply wanted to steal the lot, for those interested but not on his own Facebook. The man has humility and still regards placing high among globally talented and immensely competition-fettled shooters to be ‘lucky’.

Here’s what John Said...

“It really has been a struggle trying to summarise the last five days. It has been an unforgettable experience from start to finish.
The 2026 Slingshot World Championships was held in Las Mesas, Spain. I was one of seven UK competitors to attend the competition in which we went head to head with the best the world has to offer.
I was lucky enough to place 24th in the individual world rankings and team GB placed 6th overall.
With the competition aside, it brought hundreds of individuals together for the love of this sport and the pursuit of precision. It was amazing to see how much love and devotion went into hosting an event such as this. A whole community came together to host multiple nations and provide a truly humbling experience.
It was incredible to meet old faces and new. Some of those who I have been friends with for years online, I had the opportunity to meet and compete with in person.
My face aches from smiling and my love for this hobby full to the brim. I hope the UK can one day host something on this level if we can get past the bad stereotypes.
Again, the World Slingshot Association and the organisers ran this event from start to finish without a single hiccup.
I am so grateful for what slingshot shooting has brought into my life.

Friendship, adventure and devotion.

Thank you to Wasp Slingshots for their unwavering generosity and support. I am so proud to represent them.”

Well said, mate!

Special mention has to go to Jake Sellers, who scored a third place in the ‘older’ Junior section. His dad was tearful as he did it! Ben Barker was not dry eyed, either! Jake was awesome in his precise approach, taking a higher value smaller target, under pressure, to win his place.
