Weekly catapult club meets are still rare, oddly. We have a few commercial ranges that encompass catapultry, but only a few weekly clubs. The informal gathering at The Bridge in the Sheffield area is the daddy of these, but Lee Harrison of the West Kent Catapult Club now has a well-attended Sunday morning meet at his beautiful wooded location. It’s now got a bushcraft-grade shelter and central meeting spot as well as the well-established field target array fixed discreetly to the trees. I love the supersized slingshot hanging from the lintel!

They recently had a member’s milestone birthday to celebrate…he was ten! Proof if it were ever needed, how much of a young lads’ heritage a catapult can be. Ask both British and American Dennis the Menaces, Richmal Crompton’s William, Bart Simpson or the kid in Stranger Things! Lee had this to say about it, last Sunday, 10th:
“Another EXCELLENT morning here at WEST KENT CATAPULT CLUB!
Today we celebrated one of our younger member’s birthday, big 1-0 today! Happy birthday Bill, we hope you enjoyed your gifts from all of us at the club.
Some big scores going down today, by some of our new friends who have recently been joining us. We can’t wait for the UKSA events in Harrogate and Yalding. Some silverware will definitely be coming home to Kent this year! Peace and love to all of you out there…”

Find out more on Facebook! And why not start and run a weekly thing near you? The diplomatic leap of it all, is getting somewhere safe and permissible to use, then getting some regular weekly action!
Meanwhile, here’s the latest flyer for the WKCC AND TITAN TRIBE event coming soon: 27th to 30th August 2026.
