SIGHTRIGHT Simple Aiming System For Slingshots

One of the newer slingshot clubs is the one in Las Vegas. Brian Arevelo Has already reported on a shoot there. You can read about it here: http://www.slingshotworld.co.uk/the-first-las-vegas-spanish-slingshot-tournament-lv-nevada/ And lately he has been using this little item added to his frame called SightRight, that he developed himself. Clever chap.

Now Brian, like so many sling shooters, has a ken for other stuff you shoot. One of the coolest of which, is the underwater harpoon. I learned to swim with a ruddy great big pair of flippers and am much happier in the water than on land. Just like a walrus. When we swam with the manatees in Florida, we did not follow them but rather joined their pod because they recognised me as one of their own. And Brian has a massive lake of fresh water, so large It can support a main group for spear fishermen in Las Vegas and even another called 9th Island Spearfishing. They shoot freshwater bass and a pest species in the USA, carp! Anglers would have conniption fits if anyone spearfished carp in the UK. So how American is that?

Here is an image of spearguns with harpoon elastic and full butterfly sling shooting… in one. Not a common picture!

But that isn’t where it stops, as Brian has deep shooting sports interests. He got involved in a bit of cognitive neuroscience, which are big words to do with the study of how we perceive stuff around us. This was all about aiming, instinctively but with assistance to perception.

It has now been translated to Brian’s passion for slingshots and he has created a device he calls SIGHTRIGHT. It looks dead simple and it is, essentially. I reckon I can let the picture do the talking.

A SIGHTRIGHT card is available for a quid-plus an envelope with a stamp on it, or in person from the fat man at shoots. Or for those who get in quickly, some are still available as cover-mount freebies. Use the CONTACT page to put in your order and also for your own copy of Slingshot World magazine.
