Hybrid Archery catty range

Hybrid Archery Catty Club!

Hybrid Archery catapult club is not like fight club. You are allowed to talk about it.

We found this awesomely cool spot in Connecticut, USA, a catapult range on a shopping mall, called Fork + Band. And said we need more of this sort of positive thing here, like this:

It turns out that our reporting of Target Sports World, in Romford, was seen by a new British slingshot fan, and we have just learned about this super cool new catapult facility he has set up. It is the brainchild of this slightly gripped-by-the-obsession individual, called Alex.

Alex is an experienced field sportsman and enjoys most anything that sends a projectile down range. He started Hybrid Archery, (based at Westerby Farm Camping and Glamping, at Robbs Ln, Outwell, Wisbech PE14 8PN) some years ago. He started outdoors but now has use of an interior space. His insurance covers airguns, archery, crossbows and now slingshots. Because about a year ago, he got chatting to mates at a shoot and discovered the new slingshooting world they were discussing. He has shot the classic Barnetts, and found the heavy draw and big ammo they shoot, to be challenging to get good at and was amazed at the accuracy and down-range energy that modern catapult elastics can achieve.

Now, after some experimenting and wishing to STAY insured, they restrict their indoors range to 9mm clays and use steels outdoors only. Alex has a ridiculously over-engineered catch box at home but the passion has caused him to buy at least thirty frames so far.

The man has gone down the rabbit hole and HAS A RANGE TO SHOOT AT!

I called up and asked who was the nutter, because you absolutely need a slingshot fan in the house to make this happen. And it was him.

The targets look brilliant fun and the place is well organised and run snugly to rules such as apply to airgunnery. I love the tins cans awaiting their demise and they have a wicked target selection to assault!
